Project Experience: Documentary Video Production
Working on the documentary video titled “From Workshop to National Stage – The Story of Team EROS at KRI ” was an extraordinary and meaningful experience. This project aimed to capture the inspiring journey of Team EROS, a robotics team that rose from a humble workshop to compete proudly on the national stage at the Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI).
Throughout the project, I was involved in every stage from pre-production and filming to final editing. During the pre-production phase, our team conducted research to understand the background and struggles of Team EROS. We created a storyboard, planned the visual composition, and prepared all technical equipment needed for on-site shooting.
Filming was both exciting and challenging, especially when documenting dynamic activities in the workshop and during competition. Capturing emotional moments the late-night work sessions, the intensity of robot testing, and the joy of competing nationally required creativity and precise timing.
The editing process became the heart of the storytelling. I focused on creating a cinematic flow that blends interviews, background music, and motivational narration to convey both emotion and inspiration. The final 10-minute documentary not only showcases the team’s achievements but also delivers a powerful message about perseverance, innovation, and teamwork.
This project significantly improved my technical skills in cinematography and video editing while deepening my understanding of visual storytelling. For me, this documentary represents more than just a video it’s a tribute to the spirit of youth, creativity, and determination that drives innovation in Indonesia.
